As I mentioned, my future parents, Bernice Parks and William (Bill) Huntley met 76 years ago this month in July 1940.
Bernice, just turned 16, has completed her sophomore year at Allentown High School. Bill, 23, is a PFC in the US Marine Corps.
The photo above shows my mother at around the time they met. According to Aunt Lucy (on the left in the photo) their Mama dressed them alike as in this photo in the Bolero suits. Lucy says this photo was taken during the summer before her senior year in high school … she said she remembered because she wore that outfit for her senior photo that fall … she graduated from Allentown High School in June of 1941.
