Dear Bernice is a website and blog dedicated to my mother, Bernice Parks Hunt
ley, and my father, William Roy Huntley. Seventy-six years ago this month, July 1940, they met for the first time. After their initial meeting, they began a correspondence which lasted for three years until their marriage … and continued for years afterwards necessitated first by war and then by prolonged absences due to my father’s military service. Through the blog on this site, I am going to share their letters – their courtship as it was … and please don’t worry I have both sides of the conversation … along with photos, articles, cards and other relevant items which add to the story.
